Significant improvements (new blacktop) to main entrance road from last year made arrival much better. However, this KOA is still difficult to get to. KOA directions must be followed in detail but long distances between KOA signs cause one to wonder if one is on the right road. Directions do not have distances marked. I cannot imagine finding this KOA in the dark. Wi-Fi, while excellent, is limited; i.e., the KOA/local ISP contract limits the KOA and in turn, the KOA limits campers who get a login password upon checking-in, will be booted-off the connection if too much data is uploaded/downloaded. There is a warning note above the password login, but it lacks specificity as to just how much time/megs can be used. Over all, the campground is clean and owners are clearly upgrading, but sites are not that level and small. This was our third time at this KOA, but are now considering other options w/easier access and longer internet connectivity.

We've been here before and continue to admire this place. Great amenities w/wifi, pool, full hookups & 50 amp service (needed to run both a/c during hot summer months). Also great access to Rushmore/Crazy Horse/Custer SP/Lead/Deadwood/Sturgis/Devils Tower and of course, Rapid City. We will stay again.

Typical KOA w/easy access to either I-35 or I-90. CG is adjacent to I-90. Travel America fuel services are located at I-35, 7 miles west of CG via brand new cement hywy. Only negative was dust kicked up by moving vehicles. The positive during our stay was heavy rain - all night - so no dust in a.m.

Typical KOA w/easy access to I-90. Great supper/breakfasts available to all including locals, as long as everyone pays. We've stayed here before during trips both east and west. Diesel fuel and gas available at station at I-90 exit and CG is only 1/2 mile from interstate. Westerly winds and limited traffic going thru SD keep road noise to a minimum. We would stay here again.

Upon arrival, we thought this would be a fantastic place. We were disapppointed. Although the site was very large and was easy access for our 40' mobile home, the cable connection was filled w/snowy interference and the WiFi signal was non-existent. Worse, upon checking in, the first person was too busy to acknowledge that I was waiting. After a minute or so, she suggested a person at the other end of the counter would help me...and this second person was busy working on the computer. Ugh! Poor customer service. I went back to the office/store later to ask some questions and the same treatment was offered. I wondered if they understood customers were paying their salary. This is an Encore "resort" and my first experience w/Encore. Needless to say, we were not impressed. This place is hugh and should be a wonderful RV/campground; employees and services are poor. Last but not least, we inquired about using the "work-out" facility and were told it would be an additional $20 for a membership. Ugh, again! We will avoid this place in the future.

Typical KOA and functional. What we saw was clean, but didn't use bathroom/showers. I-40 road noise was in the distance, but not obnoxious. While the predictability of KOA's is important, I would stay at the Deer Run RV Resort (also located in Crossville) the next time in order to avoid I-40 noise. We camped in a motorhome.

Another typical KOA with one exception; the sites were not particularly level. Even after leveling, our water in the gray tank would not completely empty, unless I blocked the wheels. The wonderful thing is that it is remotely located. When pulling out of the entrance, there is no view of traffic coming from either the left or right due to trees and hills. The WiFi was slow and there is no cable and given the hills of VA, the antenna didn't do any good.

While functional, this is NOT a destination campground. Street access is narrow and twisty. The campground itself, sits high on a hill; toads need to be disconnected at the bottom before going up. There is no cable or WiFi and the mine exhibition is closed until April 2008 for renovation. Electrical service is maxed out at 30 amps and all connections are at the rear of the back-in site, so make sure you have a long sewer hose; I needed to add 20 feet to my existing 20 foot hose as the sewer was about 30+ feet from my motorhome.

This is a very large place with nearly 200 sites of which 65 are available for folks on the move. The permanent residents are separated from the transient folks. There's a 25 acre lake with a beach, playgrounds as well as BBQ, and tennis courts. It is a gated CG which requires a pass available upon check-in and a $10 refundable deposit. It is 4 miles from I-40 at exit #322 (the exit # does not appear on the web site map); thus, it is very quiet and remote. Sites are very spacious and big rigs are easily accommodated. We would stay here again if in the area.

Typical KOA. Excellent access from interstate and diesel fuel. However, proximity to interstate permitted us to count trucks passing all night; thus, road noise was noticeable. Very clean and good access for large vehicles.

Adequate campground for our needs. Campsites are narrow, but most have fire rings anyway. Picnic tables are situated on landing pads. Great access from I-75 and yes, there is WiFi, but the WiFi lacks stability as I was continuously booted off the web at random intervals. We camped in a 40' motorhome.

We stayed for 4 nights and toured SA during our time here. Amazingly quiet except for rude neighbors who stayed up talking until 2:00 a.m.; but they left after only 2 nights. Sites are close, but accommodating. Excellent access to all hookups except cable; but cable is available. Excellent public bus access to River Walk (downtown SA) as well as driving to same. Parking downtown is scarce, but we found it.

Concrete everywhere; entrance, roadways, and pads. Person who answered phone is gruff, but personable when going face-to-face and when helping to back into a site. Many winter-Texans were evident and everything was spotless. WiFi is pay as you use it rather than free and ditto for cable TV. Size of sites was OK for our 40' motorhome, but had the impression of being stuffed into a campsite as most are small widths. Probably will not stay there again due to difficult access from major highways and confusing signage on roadways...typical for TX.

Host had an attitude and was surprised when I showed him a copy of our reservation confirmation. Although he was helpful in getting situated in the back-in site, the site was dirty/muddy. We will not return to this place.

You can eat off the rest room floors. Unbelievably clean...and w/fresh flowers. My only disagreement is there are no sewers at the sites, altho a central dumping station is available on the way out of the CG.
